Sign up as a Device Owner
This is chapter 1 of the Device Owner track. By the end you'll know what the sign-up flow looks like, what we'll ask for, and what to expect on your dashboard after your first sign-in.
Time: about 8 minutes. Prerequisites: an email address, a desktop computer you own with at least 4 CPU cores and 8 GB RAM (gaming PC, dev workstation, or recent laptop all qualify), and a bank account or Stripe payout account in a supported country.
Step 1 — Visit getzyra.io and pick "Earn from your device"
Go to getzyra.io. When device-owner mode launches you'll see two large entry buttons on the homepage: "Deploy Zyra in my organization" and "Earn from my device". Pick "Earn from my device". You'll land on app.getzyra.io/earn/register.
The signup form is intentionally short — three fields:
- Email address (personal, not corporate — earnings are personal income).
- Password (12+ characters, mixed case, digit, special).
- Country of residence (selected from a dropdown of supported payout countries).
Why we ask for country. Tax handling (1099-K in the US, DAC7 in the EU) and supported payout methods depend on where you live.
Step 2 — Run the device-eligibility check
After signup, before installing anything, you'll go through a quick eligibility quiz. It's six questions:
- What kind of device do you want to enroll? (desktop / laptop / workstation)
- How many CPU cores does it have?
- How much RAM?
- What operating system?
- Roughly how many hours a day is it powered on?
- Do you have a wired internet connection or Wi-Fi only?
The quiz scores your hardware against current marketplace demand and gives you an estimate: "Devices like yours earn approximately $X-Y per month". The range is wide on purpose — actual earnings depend on demand, your uptime schedule, and your power/thermal settings.
If your device doesn't qualify (too little RAM, too old a CPU), we'll tell you honestly. You can still sign up and be notified if marketplace requirements change.
Step 3 — Connect a payout method
Earnings settle to a Stripe Connect account in your name. You'll click "Connect payout" and complete Stripe's standard onboarding: legal name, address, date of birth, tax ID (where required), and a bank account or debit card.
Stripe holds the verification — we never see your tax ID or bank details directly. You can come back to this step later, but you won't be able to withdraw earnings until it's complete.
Step 4 — Install the Device Owner agent
Pick your OS (Windows MSI, macOS .pkg, Linux .deb / .rpm) and follow the installer. The agent runs in your system tray. It will not auto-start workloads until you tell it to — you stay in control of when your device works.
What just happened
You have a Device Owner account, a verified payout method, and the agent installed. You haven't earned anything yet — that's chapter 5 of this stage. But everything is ready.
Troubleshooting
- Eligibility quiz says my device doesn't qualify. Hardware requirements can change as marketplace demand evolves. Stay on the early-access list; we'll email you when your hardware becomes eligible.
- Stripe Connect rejected my application. Stripe rejects for many reasons (incomplete address, unsupported country, name mismatch). Email hello@getzyra.io and we'll help you work through it.
- Agent installer blocked by my antivirus. The agent is signed with our code-signing certificate. If your AV flags it as unknown, add an exception or contact hello@getzyra.io so we can flag the false positive with the vendor.
